Meteor showers are a different kind of star party. Blankets and chairs strewn across a darkened field with people watching the sky for streaks of light. Few lights or telescopes will be seen because the best way to watch for meteors is with the naked eye viewing the entire sky.
The Perseid meteor shower is typically one of the best showers of the year. The best viewing is after midnight and the peak will actually occur on Monday before dawn, but we will have a viewing on Saturday night so as not to interfere with work/school.
The meteors appear from the general region of Perseus, giving the shower it's name.
