The 1911 24” Brasher telescope we acquired two years ago needs a new home. But until then the storage facility costs us $250 every month. Please help support this.

Library Telescope Project

Currently 8 local libraries have a combined 13 telescopes as part of the lending collection. These telescopes have been modified for simple use and can be checked out for a week. Sugar Creek Astronomical Society helps maintain the telescopes.

Robotics Kits

NWA Space discovered this year that some of the smaller schools in Northwest Arkansas don’t have enough parts for their students to work with for the robotics competitions. We are working on a matching grant to donate one new kit each to 12 area schools.

Telescope Restoration

The 1911 Brashear telescope needs to be refurbished. The telescope mechanisms and objective are in excellent condition, but more than 7 layers of paint needs to be stripped. The red bronze also will be polished up to shine.
