Apollo 11 Landing 50th celebration
NWA Space will host a community event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the Kathleen Johnson Memorial Park in Lowell, Arkansas. The event will start at 7pm on July 20th with demonstration like Elephant Toothpaste and Thermite Cutting. Many traditional demonstrations we have done for years at First Friday with a number of new demonstrations will also be occurring around the area. 3D printed copies of the Moon and mars rovers will be on display. The Earth and moon will be shown to scale relative to both size and distance.
After the Sun sets telescopes will be available for viewing the Moon, Jupiter, Saturn, and even the Milky Way.
The event is open to the public with no admission costs, but remember to brig a chair for the star party. Water bottles will be available to purchase.
